Meet Dr. Yarborough

Welcome to The Well Clinic! I am Dr. Andy Yarborough. My wife Melody and I started The Well Clinic in 2015 to guide people into hope, wellness, and life. Iā€™m honored to be part of your journey as you navigate this path of healing and growth. Our team is here to support and guide you in any way we can.

I earned my Doctor of Psychology from Regent University where I developed a strong foundation in understanding the complexities and integration of soul care and spiritual formation. I moved to Baton Rouge in 2008 to finish my pre-doctoral internship in affiliation with LSU and have been a licensed psychologist since 2011.

I have specialized training in treatment methods that are trauma-informed (e.g., EMDR, IFS-related, body-based therapies, etc.) but also growth-oriented (e.g., positive psychology, meaning-based therapies, coaching psychology, spiritual formation, etc.). I approach diagnosis and treatment by paying attention to how the physical, psychological, social/cultural, and spiritual aspects of a person interact and contribute to the presenting issues as well as how these aspects promote healing and growth.

I have a range of professional experience including working with children, adults, married couples, families, and organizations. In working with organizations, I want to move leaders and teams toward health and alignment. I have done this in several different environments, including outpatient settings, inpatient hospitals and care facilities, intermediate care facilities, businesses, churches, and missions organizations.

Staying current with the latest advancements in mental health is essential. I regularly engage in training opportunities to refine my skills and knowledge. In all of this, I want to help you lay a foundation for a lifetime of loving and leading well.

My approach is collaborative and client centered. Together, we'll co-create a tailored plan that aligns with your unique needs and goals. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is crucial. I'm committed to fostering a genuine and supportive connection as we work together.

Outside of my practice, you'll often find me hanging out with my wife and kids, listening to and playing music, reading science fiction, pondering the meaning of life, laughing as much as possible, spending time outside, and drinking coffee!
