Andrew Magers, PsyD

Andrew joined The Well Clinic team in 2016. His values and skill set fit seamlessly with the vision of The Well Clinic to bring people to a place of hope, wellness, and life.

Dr. Magers attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL, where he graduated with a doctorate in clinical psychology. He completed his doctoral internship at Salina Regional Health Center in Kansas, a semi-rural hospital system. He then moved to Baton Rouge in 2016 to finish his licensing requirements with the state of LA. Dr. Magers has extensive experience working with college students, helping them with stage of life issues, identity development, and anxiety and depression. Additionally, he has worked with children, young adolescents, adults, and older adults on issues ranging from situational stress to severe mental health concerns. Dr. Magers focuses on the concepts of shame, unhelpful thinking, and spiritually related issues in therapy. He has also received considerable training in psychological and neurocognitive assessment and performs the majority of assessment procedures at The Well Clinic.

Andrew and his wife have lived in Baton Rouge since 2016. Andrew is skilled in carpentry and enjoys making furniture in his down time. Alongside his carpentry shop in the garage, you may also find him playing the drums or soccer.
